Kid’s Community© is a free weekly support program for children who have a family member with cancer. The purpose of this group is to offer children ages 5-12 an opportunity to make friends and learn new skills for living with the stresses of cancer, or when there is cancer in the family. In a small, supportive group setting, children will talk, learn, and grow together with other children living with cancer. They will have their questions about cancer answered, learn helpful ways to communicate with others and to ask for help, and learn some useful relaxation techniques. Preregistration Required.

EMBRACE KIDS
Free Service to Elementary & Middle Schools

Embrace Kids is a free, one hour in-school program, that helps support children ages 5-12 who have a family member battling cancer.  These one hour sessions help children talk about their experience, fears, and anxiety they face as their lives shift while a loved one is going through active treatment or during the cancer recovery process. Therapy tools used during sessions include, but are not limited to, art, play and activities that solicit active participation as well as normalize the child’s experience by sharing with their peers. We are proud of how this program often reduces the travel burden for the family by offering the services while the child is in school. Typically these groups are held during the child’s lunch hour or directly after school in order to not disrupt classes.
